Asian Record Organisation (ARO) has recently hosted a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City to announce the list of 12 Vietnamese dishes in the food record category of this organization.
These 12 dishes include Pho, Bun Cha and Bun Thang from Hanoi, Banh Da
Cua (Crab noodles) from Hai Phong City, Com Chay (rice crackers) from
Ninh Binh province, Mien Luon from Nghe An province, Bun Bo from Hue
City, My Quang from Quang Nam, Pho Kho (dry noodles) from Gia Lai
Province, Banh Khot from Vung Tau Province, Goi Cuon and Com Tam from Ho Chi Minh City.
This is not the first time Vietnam food is recognized by an
international organization. This record however significantly helps
introduce Vietnamese food to foreigners. “This is the first time I’ve
tried Pho and it’s amazing”, said a Canadian who come to Vietnam for the
first time at the ceremony.
ARO also recognizes some other records of Vietnam in the ceremony. Most
of those belong to the fields of culture and environment, with some
others in architecture and art fields.
